Owner & Manager Julie Camm
Julie has been working at Alveston House Hotel since 1978. After completing a management buyout in 1998, the business has gone from strength to strength, with its restaurant Carriages having been awarded an AA rosette and the hotel being named Best Small Hotel of the Year in the Bristol Hospitality Awards 2010.
Julie runs the hotel with great success alongside a dedicated team, which allows time for her other great passion in life: carriage driving.
Business Development Manager Carole Topping
Carole’s career at Alveston House started in 1998 as a General Assistant looking after conferences. Her ability to create a rapport with both leisure and business guests enabled her to quickly progress to Reception Manager.
Now Business Development Manager, Carole’s passion for Alveston House ensures that she is much more than her job title suggests; she is the driving force behind our success.
Deputy Manager Lisa Hindson
Lisa first joined Alveston House Hotel in July 1993 as a Trainee Manager straight from North Warwickshire College. A reliable member of the team, she quickly progressed to Assistant Manager.
Since 2007 Lisa has had the role of Deputy Manager, making her responsible for the day-to-day running of the Hotel. She also looks after weddings and functions, meeting with couples to help plan their special day.
Chef Ben Halliday
Having trained at Brunel College in Bristol, Ben spent time working in some of Bristol’s finest restaurants, as well as a year in Australia.
Ben joined the team here 4 years ago, specialising in classic dishes with his very own modern twist. Carriages Restaurant at Alveston House Hotel was awarded its first rosette at the end of Ben’s first year.
Head Housekeeper Nina Platchtyna
Nina started as housekeeper in September 2008 and was promoted to head Housekeeper soon after.
Actively involved in the on going upgrade of our rooms, she prides herself in the excellent ratings achieved for cleanliness throughout the hotel.
