Location, location, location

We all know location is of prime importance when it comes to buying a property, but it should also be one of your main concerns if you are planning a business conference. If you have delegates travelling from across the UK, it is vital that the location is accessible and easy to find.

Here are five top tips to help you choose the right destination for your business meeting:

1. Proximity

Choose a facility that is close to a motorway or a main road. Many delegates will drive to your business conference, so it needs to be easy to reach and avoid busy city centre traffic. If you choose an obscure destination, your delegates may get lost and arrive late. You may also create extra work for yourself as you will have to provide detailed maps and travel information.

2. Parking

Find a conference venue that provides free, secure parking. The last thing your delegates need when they arrive is to face steep parking charges or to worry that their vehicles might be at risk.

3. Professionalism

Select a location that has experience of hosting business functions and dedicated staff to answer queries and provide support. There is no point choosing a business centre that cannot offer the facilities and knowhow you need. Ask to speak to the dedicated conference organiser, and if there isn’t one, take your business elsewhere.

4. Place to stay

Perhaps your delegates will be tired after a busy day of talks, or perhaps your conference will last several days. If so, it would be a massive advantage if the facility you choose offers overnight accommodation. If you can find a place that also has an excellent restaurant and bar, your delegates will be able to carry on the day’s discussions in style throughout the evening.

5. Pleasant surroundings

Opt for a location that is easy on the eye. Many conference venues are situated in industrial surroundings, with views of busy roads or other corporate buildings. If you can find a facility that offers attractive views and green space for your delegates to enjoy during breaks, they are likely to feel more relaxed, engaged and productive.

Located at the meeting point of the M4 and M5 motorways, Alveston House Hotel is an excellent place to host a business conference. Perhaps you are expecting delegates from Birmingham, Bristol and London to attend. If so, the hotel is a convenient location and one that is extremely easy to find.

Alveston House Hotel provides free parking and plenty of green space, including a unique walled garden for business users to enjoy. With its own dedicated conference organiser on hand to help, all of your requirements can be met without any fuss. “It’s a joy to use a hotel that really understands customer service and puts it into action. I recently used Alveston House Hotel to run a business planning event for one of my clients. I was delighted with the responsive and friendly approach of the staff. All the arrangements ran like clockwork and staff were very flexible when our event didn’t quite follow the original plans. It was delightful to be able to concentrate on working with my clients with the reassurance that all the other practicalities such as coffee breaks, meals and equipment were being handled so professionally. I look forward to my next opportunity of working there.”
