If you don’t yet understand this latest internet based phenomenon dont worry – you’re not alone.
This is a quick guide to hopefully unravel some of the mystery behind what clearly is the fastest growing social media network ever.
Twitter users communicate with each other by posting messages – each post is called a tweet. Each tweet must only be up to 140 characters long. This may seem a little limiting but it also ensures that you put down exactly what you want to say without the waffle!
The idea is that your tweets are read by your followers. Now you may only have 10 followers but those 10 followers may also have 50 followers each so if they retweet your message you have just connected to 500 people – some of whom may decide to now follow you as well.
As well as tweeting to your own followers you can also join in conversations regarding any subject you want. You can search a topic, see what is being said and add your own views. It’s that simple.
Twitter is the very best way of sharing information as it happens. All the latest news and views can be displayed immediately to millions of people world wide. It’s not just about who is having coffee (although this is frequently mentioned!) it is also about sharing really useful information and articles that you may not necessarily have discovered yourself.
If you haven’t tried Tweeting why not give it a go. It’s simple to set up and we would love to hear how you get on.
Interesting? Useful? Why not share it!
