Dan and the Romania Team

Dan and the Romania Team

Since starting work at the hotel in October 2008, our Brazilian colleague Dan Araujo has been attending Thornbury Baptist Church and has made many friends within the congregation.

13 years ago the Church began a link with a Baptist Church in Northern Romania.  Each year they send a team of volunteers to help with children and young people’s summer groups.  Dan has been invited to join this team and is looking forward to taking part in the work in Udvarhely, eastern Transylvania.

One of the toughest challenges the team will face will be the language barrier; most of the population of Udvarhely speak Hungarian, which is not a language that the team are familiar with!  It will certainly be a very interesting mix of cultures.

Watch this space for an update when Dan returns.

Interesting? Useful? Why not share it!

Nice photo, well done to you all. Thanks for getting involved and being so enthusiastic about the trip Dan. Winter has come to England today. Hope you are in the warm over there and are enjoying serving with the local community. Thinking of you each day.
Morris, your beans are being watered but the high winds might blow them flat to the ground and your carrots may get rising damp.
    Philip.
