Banksy Fever

Love it or loathe it Banksy Art has completely captured the imagination of the nation.  We have seen visitors from all over the country come to Bristol to see the artists biggest ever exhibition at the Bristol City Museum.

During an average weekend the museum normally welcomes around 1000 visitors but for the opening weekend of the Banksy exhibition over 8000 people descended upon the gallery.  100 pieces are on show and include many famous illustrations by the Bristol born artist.

Exactly Who Banksy is remains a mystery although it is common knowledge that he grew up in Bristol, spraying his way to fame on the walls of the City. This free exhibition is said to be his way of thanking and rewarding the City.

The exhibition was shrouded in secrecy and it is believed that Banksy himself attended the setting up of the exhibition but his identity was kept from museum staff as he blended in with the rest of the crew.

The exhibition runs from June until 31 August.  Accommodation in the immediate area can be expensive and hard to find.  We have rooms available most weekends during the exhibitions run and we are only a 20 minute car jouney into town.  Telephone now for our best rates and don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to enjoy one of the worlds most controversial (and very witty) artists.

Interesting? Useful? Why not share it!
